Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and browser storage Eat Cheffie uses, and why. For how we handle your personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
Your choice
When you first visit Eat Cheffie, a banner lets you accept or reject analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are not covered by this choice — the site cannot function without them. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the ec_cookie_consent cookie in your browser settings, which will show the banner again on your next visit.
Strictly necessary
These are always on and do not require consent, because the site cannot work without them.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| sb-* | Supabase Auth session cookies — keep you signed in. | Session / refresh-token lifetime |
| ec_cookie_consent | Remembers your cookie consent choice. | 12 months |
Analytics (requires your consent)
We use PostHog, an EU-hosted analytics provider, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. PostHog requests are proxied through our own domain (/ingest) rather than going directly to PostHog’s servers. PostHog does not run, and no analytics cookies are set, until you accept analytics cookies in the banner. If you reject or have not yet responded, no PostHog network requests are made and no PostHog cookies are set. Vendors who are logged in are identified to PostHog by account ID (not by name) once consent is given, so we can understand usage patterns tied to an account.
Functional local storage
Separately from cookies, a few features use your browser’s local/session storage to hold data temporarily on your own device. This is first-party and not shared with any third party or used for tracking, but we disclose it here because some of it is order-related personal data:
- Basket — the meals you’ve added before placing an order on a vendor’s storefront.
- Order-parse prefill — text a vendor has pasted into the order-parsing tool, held temporarily so it isn’t lost on a page refresh.
- Dashboard UI state — things like which tab or view you last had open, to make the dashboard feel consistent between visits.
